Look at this way…when was the last time you went inside a bookstore? How many finance books were on the shelf? How many cook books did you see? Did you see one book or many? See, people are always looking for a fresh perspective on evergreen content. Be proud of your uniqueness and don’t try to be someone that you’re not.
3. Be a student of your craft.
Read books, follow the leaders socially in your craft, or plug into niche specific podcasts. Be present at live events, and adopt daily practices targeting your niche. The more you immerse, the quicker you will start living that lifestyle and branding yourself as the authority.
4. Be proactive with your words…actions will follow.
Stop saying, “I have to do XYZ”, and start saying, “I’m doing XYZ because…” Saying “I have to”, implies that you’ve already decided not to do the task at hand. Typically the “I have to do” lists almost never gets accomplished. Saying “I’m deciding to do” adds some ownness to your actions. For example, “I have to do a blog post because they are people who are seeking this information.” By adding the “why” to the task creates a mental follow-thru for you in getting things done.
5. Have Non-Negotiables.
There’s always plenty of things to do in running an online business. Unfortunately, there aren’t enough hours in a day to get them done. Create a non-negotiable that absolutely has to get done prior to the end of the day. This keeps you focused and ensures that every day is a productive day!
Writing in a journal keeps thoughts and plans organized and in perspective. Jotting things down will also keep you from forgetting spur of the moment business ideas. Get those creative juices flowing and capture them in ink!
7. Have a list of [working] goals.

Displaying humility builds great relationships between yourself, your partners and clients. No one wants to do business with an arrogant person.
